About Aaron Riddle - Virginia Civil Marriage Officiant and Photographer

Aaron RiddleBorn and raised in the Baltimore, MD area, I moved out to Winchester, VA with my wife in 2005 to start a family and fell in love with the area. While working for Lord Fairfax Community College as their Print and Web Manager, I started my own wedding photography business in 2009 and photographed over 150 weddings of all sizes over the entire east coast.

In 2016, I decided to become a different type of photographer…one with the authority to perform civil marriage ceremonies! I was honored to be appointed by Frederick County Virginia’s presiding Circuit Court Judge to legally marry couples anywhere in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

I am also a former professional cartoonist, an avid runner currently on a quest to complete a marathon in each state by the time I am 50 years old, and also executive director of Piggins and Banks Pig and Animal Sanctuary (a nonprofit organization based at my home where we take in unwanted pet pigs and other surrendered animals).

I received a Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts degree with a graphic design major in 2002 from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). I am happily married with two daughters and enjoy time spent with my family, fitness, the outdoors, and pet pigs.
