The Best Epic Mountain Elopement Option in Virginia
Does getting married at sunrise with only the two of you present among the majesty of nature sound appealing? If so, the Premium Mountain Elopement package may be what you are looking for.
As both a legally-appointed wedding officiant and professional photographer, I am able to marry you and take your photographs among the most beautiful mountain overlook in the Shenandoah National Park. No need to worry about scheduling multiple vendors and coordinating large groups. It will just be the three of use atop the mountain as you both say “I do” and legally become married (along with some beautiful photographs as well).
Of course you are welcome to exchange rings, write personal vows, and I can guide you through that process…but the only things you absolutely need are your marriage license and the two of you to be legally married on the mountain!
Legal Marriage on the Mountain: I will perform a short legal ceremony on top the mountain where you will be officially and legally married! You can customize the short service anyway you like (which I will provide guidance on). All the legal paperwork will be filed by me after the ceremony.
Professional Photography Session Included: A 40 minute photography session on the mountain summit where you will receive high-resolution edited digital photographs via download and a keepsake usb drive and case.
Weekdays Only Available: Due to incredible demand, I only perform weddings for this package during weekdays (Monday through Thursday) to increase the chance of you being the only couple present at the top of the mountain.
Eloping Couples Only: For safety, this package is for eloping couples only (no guests please). No pets are allowed (by rule of Shenandoah National Park).
A Short Hike to the Mountain: The mountain overlook is reached via a one mile moderate hike from a parking lot area, so you will need to dress appropriately. I meet my couples in the parking lot area and hike with them along the trail serving as a guide. Some brides have hiked up in their dress, while others prefer to change at the top using a pop-up tent or drape cloth.
Be Prepared for the Outdoors: There can be bugs during the summertime and very cold / windy conditions during the fall / winter months. The weather on top of the mountain can be unpredictable even the morning of, which means sometimes the view may be completely obstructed by cloud cover or fog. Please take note of this risk when booking this package. I do offer rescheduling options which are outlined in the package details.
Lodging Options: If interested in lodging close by the location, Skyland Lodge and Resort (open mid-April through mid-November) is located right next to the trail which leads to the mountain summit (https://www.goshenandoah.com/lodging/skyland). There are also other hotels or AirBnBs in the Luray, VA area within reasonable driving distance.
No Affiliation with SNP: This package and my services are in no way affiliated or connected with Shenandoah National Park. We are entering the park as visitors and making use of the trails and overlooks as a scenic backdrop for your elopement and photographs as the general public.
