Elope with a Mountain View in Shenandoah National Park
So you have decided to elope and get married in Virginia. You have your marriage license and are ready to say “I do”. The only problem is you don’t know where to get married. You do know however that you want it to be somewhere memorable with wonderful views of the mountains.
If this situation sounds like yours, please allow me to suggest Shenandoah National Park as a recommended location for your elopement. Shenandoah National Park features some of the best views of the Shenandoah Valley mountains in all of Virginia. While the park has tons of day-long hikes that take you to some amazing landscapes right out of a picture book, you can also enjoy many of these vistas from easily accessible overlooks right off of Skyline Drive (the road that runs through the entire park).
Bryant and Sierra chose to elope to Shenandoah National Park and hired me as their wedding officiant and photographer to perform their marriage. Being that I am based in Winchester, VA I recommended meeting at one of the overlooks towards the northern-end of Shenandoah National Park, which also is very close to a trail head through the woods that also makes for some great photos. It was a beautiful sunny day for their wedding, and the results of their photos can be see below.
