Get Married at Christmas Time in Old Town Winchester, VA
Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year, especially in Winchester, Virginia. The old town historic district (known as the walking mall) is fully decorated for the holiday season featuring wreaths, ribbons, lights, and a gigantic Christmas tree right in the middle of the main courtyard. Mike and Ashleigh wanted to incorporate this holiday charm into their elopement and made the decision for me to marry them in Old Town Winchester during mid-December. Wanting to take full advantage of the holiday town decor, they opted for an extended photo session as well.
The day was overcast and chilly…but not bitterly cold..so in other words a perfect December afternoon. I married them at town square near the large decorated Christmas tree and then we spent the rest of the hour taking photos up and down the Loudoun walking mall street. As a holiday bonus, a very talented trumpet player (see his photo in the gallery below) happened to be performing on the street during our time there and he serenaded the couple with many Christmas carols. It was a really memorable day for not only Mike and Ashleigh, but myself as well. After their photo session I can say for certain that I was filled to the brim with holiday cheer. 🙂
Does Mike and Ashleigh’s elopement wedding day sound like the exact type of setting you are looking for to get married? Don’t wait until close to Christmas…my calendar fills up quick!
