Married at a Mountain Overlook Close to Winchester, VA
Winchester, Virginia is one of the easiest places to get married on the east coast. I’ve gone into detail about why before. However if you choose to get married near Winchester, VA, you are not limited to getting married at the courthouse, a common local park, or in the middle of historic downtown. In fact there is a great mountain overlook only a short 25-30 minute drive away.
If you take Route 7 from Winchester and drive east towards Northern Virginia, you head up and over a mountain range within 25-30 minutes. Directly off of Route 7 is a small area known as Bears Den. Located right along the Appalachian Trail, Bears Den features wooded walking trails, a rustic cottage and one of the most amazing views you will find in the area. A short 1/4 mile walk from the main parking area along a hiking trail leads you to one of the best overlooks in the area revealing an amazing westward view looking back towards Winchester.
Luke and Tiffany took advantage of this great spot. They met me there one early weekday morning when the weather was perfect, and they exchanged their vows underneath a tree on top of the mountain.
