A Foggy Mountain Elopement Wedding in Virginia
When you set a date to elope and get married, sometimes the weather cooperates, and sometimes it does not. However sometimes it is so volatile that you never know what you are going to get!
John and Melissa drove down from Pennsylvania to get married in Virginia (because it is super simple and easy to do). They wanted to get married at the popular Bears Den (one of my recommended locations) due to the fantastic view you get from the top of the mountain overlook. However on this day there was no view to be had due to some eerie foggy mist that rolled in shortly before we got there.
While I was concerned at first that the fog would really limit what I could do for photographs, it added a sort of magical and mystical feeling to John and Melissa’s special day. I married them at the overlook while the three of us were surrounded by the mist with no one else around. We then spent the rest of the time taking a few photos at some of my favorite spots at Bears Den…which looked drastically different (in a good way) with the fog filling the air.
