How to Have a Simple Family Civil Wedding in Virginia
If you are looking to get married, but the hassle of planning a big wedding is just too much to handle or even think about, don’t worry! In Virginia it is easy to get married and still have a small, simple, wedding with a small amount of family and friends in attendance. It’s also much more cost effective too!
Dudley and Tiffany were looking for exactly that…a simple, short, sweet wedding ceremony with only a few family members in attendance. After checking out my list of suggested locations, they settled on Blandy Farm, which is a fantastic free public venue. Blandy graciously allows me to marry couples there in a short civil ceremony as long as the guest count is under 15 people (If you plan on having more than 15 guests you can most certainly still use Blandy, but I will need to put you in contact with their event coordinator as a facility use fee will usually be required). The best part about Blandy Farm is that it is incredibly scenic with a huge variety of trees and vegetation, which makes for great photographs afterwards!
A little bit of drizzle in no way dampened Dudley and Tiffany’s spirits as their simple wedding day went off without a hitch. They were able to get their marriage license in the same day (learn how), meet me at Blandy Farm to get married, have some photos taken, and then stop by the courthouse after I filed their marriage license to pick up their certified copies.
If this sounds like the exact type of wedding you want to have, contact me today and I will be happy to give you more details.
