Elopement Packages in Virginia – Which One is Right for You?
You and your partner have decided you want to get married, and also know that you do not want a big wedding. In fact, you want to elope with the only people present being the two of you, and the officiant (and maybe a family member or friend given your preference).
Virginia is one of the best states to elope in given as to how easy it is to get married here in the Commonwealth. I’ve covered the process of what you need to get married in Virginia before (you can read that here). The purpose of this article is to showcase the various elopement packages I offer to couples giving them a variety of options to choose from to create a memorable wedding day.
Officiant Elopement Package
Officiant Services Only
If you are in need of only the basic officiant / wedding celebrant services required for you to get married in Virginia (no photographs needed), this is the option for you. This package includes my service as a court-appointed officiant where I perform a short legal civil marriage ceremony and complete the marriage paperwork all within a few minutes. You also receive a Virginia-issued commemorative marriage certificate. I can perform your marriage at any location you like in the state of Virginia (travel rates apply to any location outside of Winchester, VA). Here are some of my recommended locations.
Need only one photograph taken to remember your wedding?
If you decide you only want one picture to commemorate the occasion of your elopement, I offer a Portrait Photo Add-On option, where you receive a high-quality print package of the photo I take on your wedding day. A digital file of the photo is also available for an additional charge.
Basic Officiant Photographer Elopement Package
Officiant Services with a Short Photography Session
This is my most popular Virginia elopement package. It includes everything mentioned in the Officiant Package (officiant services, short ceremony, marriage paperwork, etc), but also includes a 20 minute photography session after your ceremony to capture your special day. If you have a few guests present, I will take some posed portrait photos of you with them. Then I will devote the remainder of the session to taking creative photographs of just the two of you. All the photographs I take are then put in an online gallery for you to view and share with family and friends if you want (it’s secure and password protected).
The best part is that you get digital files of all the photographs I take in high-resolution format (you will have the ability to download them from the online gallery). You also receive a release form from me stating that you have a lifetime right to have prints of the photographs made in any manner your choose. You can either order prints from me, or have them printed elsewhere else on your own.
As mentioned before, this package can be held at any location you like in the state of Virginia (travel rates apply to any location outside of Winchester, VA).
Essential Officiant Photographer Elopement Package
Officiant Services with an Extended Photography Session
This package is my premium offering for couples looking to truly commemorate and document their elopement through photography. Like the Basic and Officiant Packages, it includes my services as a court-appointed officiant where I perform a short legal civil marriage ceremony and complete the marriage paperwork and file it with the appropriate court. It also includes photography like the Basic Package, but instead of a 20 minutes, your photo session is for 1 hour. This ensures that I get plenty of portrait and creative photographs of the two of you after I have married you.
Again, as with the Basic Package, you get an online gallery to view and download your photographs (along with a lifetime printing release). In addition, you also receive all of your digital photographs on a USB drive engraved with your names, which also includes a keepsake casethat I design with a couple of photographs from your elopement photo session.
Like the two previous packages, your wedding can be held at any location you like in the state of Virginia (travel rates apply to any location outside of Winchester, VA).
Woodland Elopement Package
Guaranteed Private Wedding Service with Photographs
With all the packages above, they are held at my recommended public locations. While all of these locations are great spots to get married, you will not be out of public view should other people be visiting the park, strolling through a trail on the mountain, etc.
The Woodland Package is a special option I offer to couples looking for guaranteed privacy for their elopement ceremony held at my private residence on a mountain north of Winchester, VA. The property is easily accessible from a major highway and features three acres of gentle sloping woods with a nature trail leading to a deck / platform overlooking the natural setting where you can exchange your vows to one another. I will also add that if you like animals, we have pet pigs you can visit with as well!
