Get Married at Your Home in Virginia
Why go somewhere to get married when you can bring your wedding right to your own backyard? That’s what Kyle and Courtney did!
Kyle and Courtney are both nurses, which is how they met. They contacted me to inquire about having their marriage performed in the backyard of the groom’s parent’s home in Middletown, VA on a Friday afternoon. With the home being situated in a nice wooded area on farmland it would be a perfect setting for their intimate wedding (and pictures), in which they only wanted immediate family members present.
To make it happen it was only a matter of booking my calendar and getting their marriage license, which is super easy to do (learn how). While I always have a set of standard wedding vows I default to, Kyle and Courtney chose to provide me with their own custom wedding script, which I was happy to use. The groom’s parents had a lovely back deck where they hosted the small wedding, and it was my pleasure to marry Kyle and Courtney surrounded by only immediate family.
Afterwards we had some fun taking photos at some of their favorite spots, including a humorous recreation of the American Gothic painting by Grant Wood (see if you can spot that photo in the gallery below).
